BIOGRAPHY
Philip J. Ebetino
Philip J. Ebetino was born April 8 1912 to Salvatore and Angelina Vallarelli Ebetino in Rye where he attended public schools. He had four brothers and three sisters. In Rye his family lived at
15 W Purdy Ave
and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Philip was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1933.
In 1939, Philip married Lucille Mainiero at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
After the war, for 37 years Philip worked at the Rye post office retiring as foreman of the mails in 1973. He was an avid and skilled golfer winning numerous local golf tournaments including the Rye Tercentenary Golf Tournament in I960, according to his son Jack Ebetino of Chevy Chase Md.
He was also an original member of the Rye Golf Club serving for many years on its golf committee. Previously he assisted in golf activities at Rye's Apawamis Club for many years
Philip J Ebetino a lifelong Rye resident and golf enthusiast died Sunday of heart failure at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 81.
In addition to his son Philip was survived by a daughter Ann McCabe of Bethel Conn three granddaughters Lisa Karen and Alison McCabe all of Bethel Conn and two brothers Fred Ebetino of Dayton Ohio and Michael Ebetino of Clearwater Fla
